Appreciating good eyesight increases with age. When we’re young, we often take clear vision for granted. But as we age, issues may develop. What can you do now to help keep your eyes healthy?
In Keep Your Eyes Healthy, The National Eye Institute suggests several simple steps, with links to more detailed information on each.
Start with getting a dilated eye exam. Assess your risks for eye diseases. Practice healthy habits, like eating healthy, exercising, and not smoking. And protect your eyes with sunglasses and safety glasses, rest your tired eyes, and prevent eye infections. If your vision is blurry, see an optometrist for corrective lenses.
With preventative care, you’ll see there’s less to worry about.
